VASCULAR ULTRASOUND:

Not only do we check your heart, but we offer imaging of your blood vessels. Vascular ultrasound is ultrasound of the cardiovascular system. It gives useful information about the presence of plaque build-up in the arteries, blood clots and leaky vein valves, also known as chronic venous insufficiency that may produce pain and swelling.

During an ultrasound, a device is held against the skin surface and sound waves are sent into the body and echo back to the device. The benefits of ultrasound are that it is non-invasive, painless, widely-available, inexpensive, safe (does not involve ionizing radiation), shows detailed images, and most of all, risk-free.

Some of the most commonly imaged vessels include the carotid arteries of the neck, the aorta which is the main artery that supplies blood to your body, the renal arteries that feed your kidneys, and the arteries and veins of the legs.
